5 quick and easy makeup tips:

1. Use Quality Brushes

Makeup Tips

Quality brushes are one of the absolute essentials when it comes to applying makeup and shouldn’t be skimped on. Cheaper brushes often lose their bristles quickly and rarely allow for an even, smooth application. Natural bristles or hairs are soft and good for applying face powders, powder blush, eye shadows, and lipstick, while synthetic brushes work best with creamy eye shadows or concealer.
Also, don’t forget to periodically clean and then thoroughly dry all of your brushes to keep them at their best. Usually, a mild detergent, or baby shampoo and warm water will do the trick.

2. The Ever Important Concealer

Makeup Tips

Concealer is necessary for covering up a multitude of blemishes, discolorations, and uneven patches of skin. For skin that has reddish undertones, blemishes, or acne, use a concealer with a greenish base, as green is great for evening out shades of red. Be sure to choose a color that matches your skin tone and looks natural underneath your base or liquid makeup. Start out with a few dots under each eye, gently dabbing or tapping the concealer to blend it evenly onto the skin. Never rub concealer into the skin as you’ll end up with more on your fingers than on your face. Other areas that usually need the most concealer are the chin, cheeks, or nose. concealer can also be used on the eye lids as a base before applying shadow.

3. Use Layers for Lasting Coverage

Makeup Tips

Makeup, much like scents and perfumes, can be applied in layers for longer-lasting coverage. Using a cream eye shadow first gives powdered shadow a base to “cling” to, and the same is true for creamy and powdered blushers. After applying concealer, base makeup, and blush set the makeup with a loose face powder applied with a soft, fluffy brush.

4. Dazzling Eyes

Makeup Tips

Some more good makeup application tips are to use liquid eye liner only on the upper eye lids for a dramatic look, and only if you have a very steady hand. Pencil eye liners can be used on both the upper and lower lids to draw attention to the eyes. To open up the eyes and make them appear larger, line the upper and lower lids, staying as close to the lashes as possible. In a pinch, or if you’d like to try a different shade, moisten the tip of a small, flat brush and use eye shadow instead of liner. Neutral-colored eye shadows are great for any time of year and work well for most skin tones. Use a lighter color near the brow bone, and finish with an even coat of mascara.

5. Fuller Looking Lips

Makeup Tips

Instead of simply lining the outside of your lips with lip liner, fill in the entire lip area with the liner before applying your lipstick. Use a deeper shade of lipstick on just the outer corners of the lips, and then use a similar, but the lighter color for the rest. Complete the look with a dab of gloss in the center of the lips. I hope that these makeup application tips will help you in your pursuit to look your best.
